Professor Ewa Majchrzak

Ewa Majchrzak is  a graduate of the Silesian University of Technology. After graduation,  she started working at this university. She received the doctorate in 1987, the habilitation in 1992 and title of the full professor in 1996.

Ewa Majchrzak specializes in the application of numerical methods in the scope of heat and mass transfer problems. In particular, there may be mentioned  the moving boundary problems, bioheat transfer, microscale heat transfer, sensitivity analysis, inverse problems. She is a well-known and respected specialist in the use of the BEM for modeling of thermal processes. Ewa Majchrzak is the author of a comprehensive monograph on this subject. She is the Author (or co-Author)  of 14 books and chapters in books,  170 scientific articles, 160 papers presented at the international scientific conferences and 4 academic textbooks. Ewa Majchrzak promoted 13 doctors of technical sciences. She is a member of Committee of Mechanics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, a member of scientific societies (including the Polish Association for Computational Mechanics), regularly collaborates with National Science Centre (Poland) as a member of the panels and reviewer. Ewa Majchrzak is  currently a director of the Institute of Computational Mechanics and Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology.
