Gaëtan Kerschen completed his Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Liège in Belgium in 2003. He was then a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and at National Technical University of Athens. Since 2007, he has been a faculty member at the University of Liège, where he is now a professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. His publications are primarily in the areas of nonlinear vibrations and orbital mechanics. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Society of Experimental Mechanics (SEM), the recipient of a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant and serves as an Associate Editor of Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing and the European Journal of Mechanics – A/Solids.
